Another Busy Weekend

Princess Party

This past weekend was loaded with fun (for all of us). On Friday, the kids had Uncle Jimmy as their babysitter while Darin and I went to dinner with the Epic group. I asked Megan if Jimmy was a good babysitter and she said, "no, he's a bad babysitter because he lets me stay up late and gives me treats".

On Saturday, Megan & Jake's cousin, Lili, turned 5. Megan went to her fancy princess party where she met the real Sleeping Beauty. After that, the four of us went to dinner at Bryan & Abee's. The kids got to play with Parker and all of his cool toys.

On Sunday, Megan and Darin went to see Cirque du Soleil. She had been talking about her "date" with Dad since last Thursday. Darin wasn't as impressed with the show as he had hoped, but Megan enjoyed it.

Now, we're off to the start of another week. Darin's traveling to Phoenix and I've got a busy workload, so I probably won't update again until sometime next week. Until then............

Bad Blogger

Christmas Eve

Yes, I've been seriously delinquent in updating this blog. It just so happens that it's my busiest time of year at work, so it seems I've got a lot of catching up to do. This is Megan on Christmas Eve. We went to Lisa's for a nice dinner with Darin's family and the kids had a great time playing with their cousins. Here's Jake's Christmas Eve photo:

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Day, my family came over. My dad made some homemade pizza and we just hung out. Again, the kids had a great time playing with their cousins. We actually got the 4 of them to sit still on the stairs for a second:

Christmas Day

The kids had a great time having all of us home for such a long weekend (and having Aunt Jenny and Uncle Flip stay with us), that it was really hard to get them going on the Monday after Christmas. They just wanted to stay in their pajamas all day. I don't blame them. This photo doesn't have anything to do with my story, but I liked it, so I'm including it:

Nice!

We had a small impromptu gathering on New Year's Day to watch the bowl games. It turned out to be pretty fun. Not bad for less than one day's notice! On the Sunday of the extended New Year's weekend, we went to Pierce's birthday party.....here's a little face time for Pierce:

Birthday

Then, it was hard to get them going again after that weekend. I feel like we're getting back into our regular routine now. This past weekend, we went up to our cottage and there was a TON of snow. Darin shoveled a big pile of snow and started tossing the kids into it. They were getting some big air. Check out old stiff legs:

And the inevitable face plant:

Face Plant!

I think that photo might rival my Worst Mother Award fish photo from last May. (Feel free to check out the earlier post if you're not familiar with that reference - or if you'd like to see it again for a good laugh).

Of course, Megan could have done that all night.

Kid Tossing

Whoa!

She perfected her form after a while to really get some air:

Good one....

And, here's the nice, soft landing:

All in all, it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll start to get caught up and update a little more regularly.

The Many Faces of Jake.....

Jake has recently decided that it's absolutely hilarious to make funny faces at the camera. Before each of the following photos was taken, he said, "take my picture"....then followed it with, "let me see". Yes, the age of digital instant gratification. It's funny that kids have no concept of ever having to wait for anything. I digress. Anyway, he is definitely the funniest person he knows and cracks up every time he sees his photos. So, here is a sampling of my littlest subject:
