Funny Kids

Yesterday, Megan got up before Jake and she and I were sitting on the couch while Darin did some yoga in the family room. He put his leg out during one various move and the ottoman was in the way, so his foot was on top of it. Megan hadn't said a word up to that point and out of her mouth came, "You're cheating." So matter of fact. Obviously, there's no sliding by on her watch.

Jake has been such a good sleeper (up until the last few days). Lately, his bedtime ritual consists of me sitting in the rocking chair with him in his room. We read one book and sing three songs. The play list is: Rock-a-bye Baby, Twinkle, Twinkle, and John Denver's Leaving on a Jet Plane. Yes, that's right. Don't ask me how that one came about. Well, I'll tell you anyway. Jake is really into planes and cars. We went through the usual two songs and then he kept saying "pame, pame"....which means plane to those of you not familiar with toddler talk. He was probably referring to a plane flying overhead, but I said, "You want me to sing a song about a plane?" and he said, "yeah, yeah". So, that was the only song with a plane that I could think of. And, I only knew one verse and the chorus, which I sang over and over for about a week -- eventually I looked up the lyrics online because he requests it all the time now. What have I done?!! If anyone has a suggestion for another song that involves a plane, I'm all ears.
